High-end professional 6 channel mixer with recording studio sound quality, featuring an industry leading 32-bit/96kHz digital sound processor and 24-bit/96kHz digital sampling.

Pioneer Electronics have introduced the Pioneer DJM-1000 professional DJ mixer, which incorporates suggestions from world-renowned DJs resulting in a mixer with high quality audio, improved functionality and increased user-friendliness. The DJM-1000 uses Pioneer’s expertise in audio technology to create a high-end unit that is easily connected to other equipment like samplers, effectors and digital turntables, enabling professional DJs to put on the best show possible.

“We continue to see the growth in the DJ market and the need for creating professional products as well as innovative products,” said Karl Detken, director of product planning for professional audio products at Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. “Pioneer remains committed to offering the high quality equipment demanded by professional DJs and clubs around the world. The Pioneer DJM-1000 is an example of that commitment.”

Pioneer utilized its long heritage in audio technology to create a high quality sound design for the DJM-1000. This mixer has 24-bit/96kHz digital sampling and a 32-bit/96kHz digital sound processor. Analog signals from LP turntables are digitized with the high quality audio-to-digital converter and mixed without deterioration of the sound quality. The unit has a rigid chassis to minimize unwanted vibrations and a strong power supply to create clear, powerful sound.

The Pioneer DJM-1000 has digital input-output terminals, making it compatible with Pioneer’s CDJ-1000Mk2 and DVJ series of digital turntables. It is also easily connected to a DJ effector or sampler to give greater variety to a DJ’s performance. It also can be used for studio recording where high quality sound is required.

Its three-band isolator allows the user to control the levels from +6dB to -∞dB in each band. It also can be used to attenuate and accent partial bands. A 17 phase fader curve allows the user to adjust not only the curves of the cross fader but also the curves of the channel fader.

The combination of a high SNR as well as the world's first sampling rate of 96kHz/24bit made the DJM-1000 a big buzz at the 2006 NAMM show. The new DJM-1000 is positioned to be the best sounding club mixer in the world. In fact UltraFest selected the DJM-1000 to be the exclusive mixer for all the stages during it's Miami event in March.

WHY is this mixer expected to be the best sounding mixer on the market?

#1 Recording Studio Quality

1. Currently Recording Studios have the highest sound quality mixers in the world.

2. Almost all sound engineers use Digital Recording for laying and mastering their tracks.

3. The Standard of Digital Recording is 96kHz/24bit.

4. Pioneer wants to bring that studio quality sound to clubs!!

#2 The Capability/Potential of 96kHz/24bit digital system

1. Currently, DJs use vinyl and CD (CD is 44.1kHz/16bit.)

2. DVD or next the future digital media is capable of 96kHz/24bit.

3. DJM-1000 can take advantage of this sound quality because of it's DIGITAL IN using 96/24.

#3 The Sound Quality surpasses any Analog Mixer

1. The best quality A/D & D/A converter. (S/N is over 120dB.)

2. Inside the DJM-1000 digital processing is done by 32bit DSP. The DJM-1000 has a dynamic range surpassing analog mixers.

3. DJM-1000 also has the highest quality parts and components in the analog circuitry i.e. power supply; Input/Outputs & more.

4. High performance digital and Analog circuits are fused together to surpass any Analog mixer.

The PIONEER DJM-1000 incorporates several industry firsts:

- A new Sound Link / EFX Link function is used to control other Pioneer equipment via a link cable.

- A BPM Synchronize Function, which synchronizes the BPMs of all attached equipment such as CDJs and EFX.

- A Visual Link Button that allows the user to control the visual effects and fades of other visual equipment (such as an Edirol V4) with the Pioneer cross fader.

The main fader volume control knob can be changed to a rotary knob for delicate sound volume control when mixing. An optional part is required to make this change, which can be completed in any of Pioneer’s authorized service centers.

After much industry speculation Pioneer announces the availability of the DJM-1000 professional DJ mixer. The Pioneer DJM-1000 is a robust installation grade mixer with the highest quality digital audio, enhanced functionality and intuitive design. It's the result of extensive industry research and development with world-renowned DJs, club technicians and installation engineers.

The Pioneer DJM-1000 employs Pioneer's expertise in audio technology to create a high-end reference audio mixer that is easily connected to traditional DJ equipment as well as other digital devices like samplers, effectors and digital turntables - giving professional DJs uncompromised performance and the flexibility to perform the best possible sets.

“We continue to see growth in the DJ market and the need for creating professional, as well as innovative, digital products” said Jason Pook, Product Planning Manager for Pioneer Europe. “Pioneer remains committed to offering the high quality equipment demanded by professional DJs and clubs around the world. The DJM-1000 is an example of that commitment.”

Pioneer's heritage in digital technology has been used to create a high-grade digital audio path for the Pioneer DJM-1000. The mixer has a 24-bit/96kHz digital sampling rate and a 32-bit 96kHz digital sound processor. The Pioneer DJM-1000's digital input-output signal path allows for transparent signal processing of Pioneer's CDJ and DVJ series of digital decks, ensuring the best possible sound quality. Analogue input signals are also digitised by a high quality A/D converter and mixed without any deterioration to the audio. The unit has a rigid chassis to minimise vibrations and a high performance power supply to produce clear, powerful sound.

The inclusion of a 3-band Master Isolator allows the user to control the levels from +6dB to - ∞ (Kill) dB in each band. It can also be used to attenuate and accent partial bands. A 17 phase fader curve allows adjustment not only of the cross fader curve but also the curves of the channel faders. This enables DJs to customise the feel of the mixer to suit their own personal style.

The Pioneer DJM-1000 is also designed to integrate easily with the new Pioneer EFX-1000 Effector along with future Pioneer Pro-DJ products. All will share the same high quality sound and can be controlled via digital links to give even greater variety to a DJ's performance.

Unique features and industry firsts included on the DJM-1000 are: A new Sound Link / EFX Link function that is used to control other Pioneer equipment via a link cable. A BPM Synchronise Function that synchronises the BPMs of all attached equipment, i.e. CDJs and an EFX unit. A Visual Link Button used when other visual equipment is connected, which enables control of visual effects and fades with the Pioneer MIDI cross fader.

“In complete honesty the DJM - 1000 is the best all round mixer I've ever used. The problem I've had with mixers in the past is that there has never been one that has it all just right for me. The perfect mixer was always a cross between two or three different mixers. What makes a good mixer is a number of things and this has them all. Awesome sound, tank style build, two send and returns for separate FX units which can both be digitally linked and controlled by the cross-fader which also boasts complete curve control. At last someone has made a mixer I'd be happy to use in any situation. Whether it's DVJing, Effecting, Scratching or fluid beat matching this is the all round winner.” James Z abiela, DJ.

Further features of the Pioneer DJM-1000 include:

3 Mic / 10 Line / 6 phono / 4 Digital / 2 “sound”

19” Rackmount / Tabletop design

PIONEER DJM-1000 FEATURES:

High Sound Quality Design

Analog signals are transmitted via the shortest possible path and converted to digital signals by a high quality 24 bit/96 kHz A/D converter, thus passing the signals to the digital mixing stage under optimum conditions. Through the use of a 32 bit DSP, mixing is achieved with zero sound quality degradation for professional DJs working in clubs. To get the most from these features, a great deal of care has been paid to perfecting the sound quality, including a high-rigidity chassis to cut down unnecessary vibrations that might affect the sound. Together with a high performance power section using an R-core transformer, the DJM-1000 has clear and powerful sound ideal for club performances.

3 Band Isolator

A built-in 3-band isolator is capable of producing level control of - ° dB to +6 dB on each band.

2-System, 3-Type SEND/RETURN

A 2-system, 3-type SEND/RETURN (PRE INSERT/POST INSERT/AUX) is provided to allow multiple connection variations with external devices, such as effectors and samplers, thus widening the range of DJ play potential.
